It’s late December, and snafus regarding holiday travel are already hitting the newswires. One of the most recent dingers comes from CNN – a 9 year old child was “misplaced” when she was pulled off a flight to be rebooked by a Southwest employee.
The rebooking resulted in the girl being late for her scheduled flight to her Aunt in New York. The Southwest airlines employees who took the girl off the flight failed to call the girl’s mother or other family members to notify them of her late arrival. The result? A frantic parent, unable to find her child for over an hour.
Southwest claims that it is conducting its own internal investigation to take a second look at policies that involve children delayed on flights – and contact the immediate family of minor children should a situation like this occur.
Naturally not every family out there can hire an air taxi service when transporting their child to another place – but situations like this occurring during the busy holiday season may make a family think twice about sending a child on a flight by him or herself.
The TSA is attempting to help airports handle the dwindling holiday season with some ease. A specialty hotline has been established to assist travelers with medical needs who are looking to fly. The hotline allows airline customers to work with TSA officials in a way that will help them get through security checkpoints – and around airports – a little faster.
What About a Sky Limo?
Despite the efforts of the TSA and airlines to accommodate passengers with medical issues, disabilities, or minor passengers, the holiday season presents inherent travel difficulties. When it comes to luxury and convenience, holiday travel with commercial airlines simply doesn’t cut it. Travelers both seasoned and inexperienced need to look toward holiday travel options that are a cut above the rest.
Kavoo is a good option to consider – with specialized sky limo service that accommodates passengers with all sorts of needs and travel issues, small airport service and friendly faces, the Kavoo experience can eliminate many of the hassles of holiday travel.
