Pack Light, But Don’t Forget!

PackingA common complaint we hear from Kavoo customers is forgetting items. You can’t imagine the amount of times our pilots hear, “I forgot my toothbrush!” or “I didn’t bring along a camera!”

We make it so easy for our clients to pack a bag and board a plane that very little preparation is necessary. Many of our clients are busy professionals who just want to get into the air, and quite literally pack a light duffel, get to and on the plane, and repeat the process the same evening.

Since many clients are in it to avoid the chaos of a commercial flight, less packing and preparation is necessary. You don’t have to check baggage, wait in long lines, or stress when you use Kavoo. We take care of everything for you. The downside (if you can even call it a downside) is that some folks don’t prepare for their flights as meticulously.
If you’re thinking about a sky taxi rental, you could find the arrangements and execution of your flight so easy and painless that you might put less care into the preparation. Here are some tips to keep you on track so you don’t forget that toothbrush, camera, or iPod:

Make a list

If it’s an overnight trip, you may be tempted to skip out on the list-making – particularly if you’re not typically a list-maker in your day to day life. However, consider a brief checklist on your iPad or smart phone that will help you remember valuable items you need to take. Check off each item as you pack it.

Put everything together

When you’re ready to run out the door, make sure all luggage you’re taking with you is stored in the same place. You wouldn’t want to forget a small bag or your phone just because you might be in a rush when you’re heading out.

Use a valise.

Many men aren’t into the idea of a “man purse”, but it can be a valuable asset when you tend to forget items you need to take with you. You can buy a nice, professional-looking valise for your use while you’re traveling to make sure you don’t lose small items such as your cell phone, MP3 player, camera, or wallet.

Using an air taxi is incredibly convenient – so convenient that you might pack a little too lightly! If you feel like you might forget something important before your Kavoo flight, these steps could help you ensure you’re on board with everything you need.

What things help you remember everything you need for a trip?

Flight Gear: Bremont Martin-Baker MB-1 Watch

Lately, you’ve been wondering just how much intensity your watch can withstand.

For example, being ejected out of a plane. Then, perhaps, descending under a deployed parachute.

Meet the Bremont MB-1, the Superbowl ring of watches (if the Superbowl was held on an aircraft carrier). Worn by only a select few who have been catapulted out of a cockpit…and survived, the MB1 is more a medal of g-force honor (ejection number engraved on the case back) than a horological piece.

The result of an unlikely collaboration between fledgling British pilot’s watch company Bremont and top ejection seat manufacturer Martin-Baker, the MB-1 was built to go beyond the call of duty – and by that we mean way beyond.

Bremont founders (and brothers) Nick and Giles English are out to prove they make watches with maximal ruggedness. Sons of a now-deceased RAF pilot, who died in a plane crash in 1995, the brothers took over the historic family airplane restoration company, as well as their father’s legacy of flying.

Now, they’re taking their commitment to precision and durability out on the testing field. And that’s where you come in…

You’ll start by picking up a pilot’s uniform, crash helmet too. Then, after dropping $4,600 bones, you (and your securely fastened watch) will be launched at around 400 mph, proving to all that Bremont (and your bravery) can survive hardcore g-forces and some serious shock.

Should you be a nervous flyer, however, an emergency exit is available. Bremont and Martin-Baker have introduced the very similar looking and priced MB-2 for those who would rather tell time with two feet on the ground.

Bragging rights and severe whiplash, however, are not included.
