Take an Air Taxi to Atlantic City

Kavoo - Your Sky LimoFebruary is coming up soon, and it’s time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day. If you’re on the Eastern seaboard, you may be a mere few hours’ plane flight away from Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Don’t let the Jersey Shore fanfare fool you – Atlantic City has more to offer than fake tans and bad behavior. If you’ve never considered going on a vacation here, you may not know you can get all the perks of Vegas without the kids, the crowds and the hassle.

Plan Your Atlantic City Vacation

Just because winter is in full swing on the east coast doesn’t mean you need to skip out on a quality vacation. Casinos and resorts offer great savings at this time of year, and winter specials keep businesses alive in Atlantic City during the slow season.

By visiting at this time of year, you can have an incredible Valentine’s Day themed vacation – and you can set yourself up to ride to Atlantic City in style in an air taxi!

Caesar’s Atlantic City

One of the most popular casinos is the east coast version of Caesar’s Palace. With exclusive restaurants, casino games, luxury rooms and popular nightlife at the Dusk night club, Caesar’s offers one of the most accommodating stays you’ll find.

Situated on popular Pacific Avenue, there’s so much to do at Atlantic City Caesar’s – from romantic deluxe suite to incredible sights and meals – you may not wish to venture out onto the strip. But if you do, there’s plenty to do and see, as Caesar’s is a short walk from other popular attractions.

Restaurant Week

You may also want to consider planning ahead to attend Atlantic City’s popular restaurant week, which happens throughout the city on March 4-10 of this year. Hundreds of city restaurants offer free or reduced-price fare. You’ll love discovering all the different tastes this city has to offer.

Get there in a Sky Limo

You can start your Atlantic City vacation off the right way by taking a Kavoo sky limo to get you there! With service to dozens of small airports, a luxury air taxi experience and shuttle service could get you to Caesar’s or another high-end hotel that meets your travel needs.

Why not get away early this year and consider Atlantic City for a Valentine’s surprise or spring vacation? It’s about time you did something for yourself.

Ski the East Coast … Really?

SkiingDecember has unfortunately been a record low for snowfall in states like Colorado, where some famous ski resorts are struggling to accommodate skiers from all over the world. Major resorts in Aspen and throughout Colorado are expecting record low snowfalls to continue over the next few months. Spring break skiers may not find the delightful slopes they’re waiting to explore when they reach their destinations, and some resorts plan fake snow production activities through the 2012 winter.

Fortunately for ski fans, the East Coast won’t be missing the snowfall this year. With record snows happening on the East Coast over the past few years, states like New York and Maryland are preparing for more record snow falls in February, March, and even April of 2012.

This is bad news if you’re not fond of winter, but will make for some great skiing. Those travelers who won’t find satisfaction this year on the slopes of Colorado may see some of the best winters yet, with the slopes of eastern ski resorts seeing natural snowfalls – which many seasoned winter athletes agree are the best kind.

If you’re planning a ski excursion to Colorado this year, you may want to consider the East Coast! Some of the ski resorts found in the eastern US are a well-kept secret that travelers and snow sports enthusiasts enjoy yearly.

Snowshoe Mountain

West Virginia’s Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort is full of untouched beauty and wonder, in the serene mountains of West Virginia. With both summer and winter activities planned at Snowshoe, you can be assured a fantastic ski adventure – whether you go alone, with your partner, or with the kids and family.

Hunter Mountain

New York’s Hunter Mountain Ski Resort is another fantastic stop for eastbound snow enthusiasts. With zipline tours, snow tubing and an incredible mountain spa, Hunter Mountain offers luxurious and fun getaways for the entire family.

Kavoo air taxi service is a great idea to add on to your winter ski adventure. The East Coast is beautiful during the winter time, and service to small airports near ski resorts across the eastern United States makes Kavoo a great option for winter travel. If you’ve never seen the winter landscape from a sky limo, rest assured it’s a view that you won’t soon forget!

If you’re considering an adventure this winter, don’t wait until snowfall buries the East Coast, and don’t rely on the typical Colorado vacation to get your ski fix – the East Coast’s slopes will be some of the finest in the US this year.

Returning to Nantucket – Even Better the Second Time

Fall HotelWe recently took another trip out to beautiful Nantucket Island to check out the fall atmosphere. We’ve written extensively over the last six months about the Hamptons, 1000 Islands, and cozy getaway towns such as Charleston, West Virginia and Charlottesville, Virginia.  Much positive feedback comes from customers who travel to Nantucket Island.

We thought it might be worth a trip back to Nantucket to soak up some of the sights and sounds we missed the first time around. We invite you to journey with us to Nantucket, so that you can see firsthand the magic and beauty of this wonderful, tucked-away little seaside town.

The Bakeries

For an island only 14 miles long and less than 4 miles wide, who knew the bakeries packed such a whallop? French bread, buttery, fresh croissants and a steamy cup of coffee are an inviting way to start off a Nantucket morning.

We visited a few local cafes and bakeries for our Nantucket experience. Mark-Et Fine Foods and bakery on Orange Street is an incredible little getaway place where you can purchase only the finest baked goods. Owners Mark and Eithne Yelle add to the delightful landscape of Nantucket with their incredible food and friendly staff.

We also stopped by the Nantucket Bake Shop, also on Orange Street. Fresh bread, just-out-of-the oven muffins and a variety of beverages started off the morning right!

Incredible Orange Street

One of Nantucket’s main access points and thoroughfares, Orange Street has a lot to offer – from restaurants, bakeries and night life, Nantucket’s Orange Street lights up with new experiences and little shops that appeal to families and the business crowd alike.

Memorial Airport

It’s hard to believe Nantucket even has an airport, with its size! Fortunately for Kavoo customers, a customized air taxi flight can easily land at Nantucket Memorial Airport, and getting anywhere else on the island is a breeze. Shuttle service or driver can be arranged to take sky limo customers from the Kavoo jet off to one of the area’s finer hotels or bed and breakfasts.

The fall experience on Nantucket Island absolutely can not be beat. With the leaves turning, the hills are on fire with color – creating a beautiful atmosphere as your sky limo descends into the Nantucket Memorial Airport.

Having an incredible experience that we never expected the first time, revisiting Nantucket the second time around is even sweeter. To be honest, it’s tempting to think about moving here and experiencing this beautiful place year-round. Fortunately with Kavoo sky limo service, the trip to Nantucket from anywhere else on the East Coast is pleasantly short. Nantucket is a great fall getaway for the distinguished traveler – and even better the second time!

Bar Harbor: A Magnificent Fall Family Vacation

Make a Splash in the East Hamptons

Known far and wide as a critical vacation spot for Wall Street big wigs, well-to-do folks on the East Coast and city slickers who are ready to head out of town, the Hamptons are one of New York’s most expansive and refined playgrounds. Many wealthy New England families own houses in the Hamptons, and a weekend getaway there could render a 4 to 5 night stay in one of these comfy, exclusive little cottages.

Kavoo’s small airport connection is set at an airfield in East Hampton, so you have the flexibility to arrive closer to your destination than ever before. You can take the whole family to the Hamptons this autumn, starting with an air taxi trip and ending in lush accommodations. Start by setting up accommodations in any one of the beautiful rental homes available to you in the Fall.  A relaxing, modern home and incredible views is a great way to add a fall getaway to the tail end of your summer.

Visit the Hamptons in the Fall

The fall is a great time to visit the Hampton and join in the grape harvesting festivals of numerous vineyards in the area. If you’re into fine wines, the Hamptons can accommodate. With dozens of vineyards – some likely older than your parents – you can get a classic, romantic experience producing and enjoying fine wines in the Hamptons. One such vineyard worth taking a look at is Pindar Vineyards, who just celebrated their 25th annual harvest festival last weekend.

East Hampton VineyardThe Hamptons are also home to several incredible local harvest craft fairs during the fall, and film festivals previewing worksfrom all over the world that simply can’t be missed. When autumn hits and the weather starts to cool down, the residents of the Hamptons are ready to hit the streets – and you can find local retailers selling their faire at craft tables throughout the Hamptons, providing access to rustics and collectibles you can’t find anywhere else in the country at this time of year.

Take a Little Trip

Naturally, the Hamptons is also home to a popular beach resort community. While it may be getting a little cool to dip your toes in the water, there’s nothing better than a relaxing beach picnic to set apart your time in the Hamptons from any other beach experience you’ve ever known. Try a local wine and cheese selection as you take in the view.

If you’re looking for a fall vacation getaway, the East Hamptons offer a great deal, whether you’re going with your partner or taking the kids along. Take advantage of fall East Hamptons getaway deals and spend a fall week in the dream cottage of your choice!

Explore West Virginia in the Fall

WaterfallWe’ve talked before about the merits of visiting tucked-away West Virginia. From the New River to two of America’s “coolest small towns,” there’s more to see and do than you could possibly imagine. West Virginia is one of America’s hidden national treasures, with cultural and outdoor activities spread statewide.

This time of year is a great time to visit West Virginia. The deciduous forests that make up West Virginia’s mountain landscape are some of the most beautiful in the country. They’re a great reason to visit West Virginia during October’s popular Bridge Day.

Bridge Day and Accommodations

Once the longest arch bridge in the western hemisphere, the New River Gorge Bridge was constructed in the 1970s. Bridge Day takes place the third weekend in October each year, and over a million people from all over the world visit. Base jumpers parachute off the bridge in interested figurations, and arts and crafts vendors from all over the state sell their fare.

Perhaps one of the greatest assets of Bridge Day is the fall colors that permeate the landscape during this time of year. The view from the New River Gorge Bridge yields an incredible display of fall colors. From orange to red, brown to yellow, the hillsides literally look like they’re on fire during the fall. The landscape alone attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to the area at this time of year.

The weather is slightly cooler in southern West Virginia during this time of year, so camping may not be the best option for visitors. There are a variety of local hotels open nearby, but it’s best to book early or else plan on driving a fairly long distance from your hotel to Bridge Day. Nearby Fayetteville has a variety of accommodations, including some classic bed and breakfasts with home style cooking.

Other Attractions

A few hours’ drive away will lead you to the Hatfield and McCoy Trails of central West Virginia. Afternoon and early ATV rides yield sunset views on the area’s various mountains. Again, the fall weather may not yield the best possible camping conditions, but local area hotel chains around the trails and in the capital city of Charleston provide excellent accommodations for the evening.

If you’re looking for a little culture, Charleston’s got it. Amidst the mountain landscape lies a cultural treasure, filled with nature walks, museums, and fine dining. The late, great Leslie Nielsen’s favorite “little city in the world,” Charleston has a little something for everyone.

If you’re looking for a fall vacation spot, West Virginia is a great place to consider. Small, local air services ensure your Kavoo flight will get you there without delays. Give yourself a great vacation getaway and consider West Virginia!

Fly the Fiery Hills of Charlottesville

CharlottsvilleCharlottesville, Virginia is a cute, quaint little town situated on the east coast. Home to the University of Virginia, this small town retains its charm while serving as a bustling spot for this educated community in north central Virginia.

Visit Monticello

If you’re a history buff, you might enjoy visiting impressive Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson himself commissioned the construction of Monticello, and dwelled there happily for many years. Daily tours are conducted at this historic landmark, one of our most cherished outside Washington DC.

Signature evening tours of Monticello are offered on a seasonal basis, which is a great idea if you’re staying in Charlottesville for an extended period of time. There’s so much to see and do, you could engage in multiple tours of the property and still not finish! From the lush gardens outside the main house to hidden cellars and an expansive upstairs, Monticello is a great way to spend a day – or even a few days – during your visit to Charlottesville.

Historic Downtown Mall

If you’re looking for great places to eat and shop, Charlottesville’s historic downtown mall provides a wonderful solution. Lined with many different kinds of retail stores, antique stores and dining fare, the historic downtown mall is the heart of Charlottesville. Friendly locals operate a variety of different little shops, and there’s always something to see and do.

For more lavish dining, try the C&O Restaurant. Housed in an old diner, C&O has everything from simpler selections to extravagant and adventurous dishes. A favorite of both locals and tourists alike, the C&O is a great place for a romantic dinner for two. Entrees also manage to stay fairly reasonable, at anywhere from $15-30 per serving.

Jefferson Vineyards

If you’re looking to get outdoors, the Jefferson Vineyards offers a great escape. The vineyard sits on 650 acres, and is just a few miles away from Monticello. This vineyard is the site of Jefferson’s original European vine planting.

Fortunately the wine is flowing a little more freely these days, and tours are available year round. You can sample the fine wines offered by the Jefferson, and take in incredible Blue Ridge mountain views on the heels of your tour.

If the Jefferson doesn’t do it for you, there are around seventy different wineries in the Charlottesville area – almost all with terrific wine and impeccable views you won’t find anywhere else in the area.

If you’re looking for a quiet weekend getaway, don’t let the UVA atmosphere fool you. Charlottesville is the perfect destination for a quiet country vacation with a loved one – and we guarantee with the fall landscape and the fiery hills surrounding you, Charlottesville is the perfect romantic or relaxing getaway to suit all your travel needs.

They offer a miniature one night spa getaway that includes free spa credit service, room accommodation, and dinner at the hotel’s magnificent, award-winning restaurant. A simple Kavoo flight to a nearby airport, and a shuttle ride to the Hilton, can make all the difference. You can shut yourself in, and take three glorious days away from the cares of your life in order to regroup and recharge, and return home as you’re ready.

Get away to Niagara Falls

Canadian hideaway spa vacations are a great alternative for someone who doesn’t wish to take a long trip, but who wants to get away for a few days from the hustle and bustle of work or home life in the city . If you’re considering taking a mini-vacation, a Niagara Falls spa trip might be just the thing for you.

During the day, you can spend time checking out Niagara Falls, or doing open-boat sight-seeing tours, and engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking or mountain biking.  In the evenings, you can relax and enjoy the hotel amenities.

Need a short spa option?

Here’s an option – set out from your smallest local airport on a Kavoo air taxi, taking only what you need to enjoy the weekend. Land at a small airport we’ve contracted with on the New York side, then charter a private taxi or limousine to drive you over to the Niagara Hilton. You don’t even have to unpack – have hotel staff take your bags up to your room, and head right over to the spa!

A spa getaway doesn’t have to take all week, and you don’t have to lose an entire day using commercial planes to get to your destination.  Kavoo’s air taxi services can save you time. Take some time to yourself, and indulge.
